How to Build a $500 Billion Textile Industry
A $500 billion textile industry has been identified by a Massachusetts textile company that will begin making the first of its type, a spokeswoman for the Massachusetts-based company said.
The Massachusetts-headquartered company, Royal Plaza Textiles, has identified its first textile product that it says will be a 100 percent recycled product.
Royal Plaza is a specialty textiles company and it began producing recycled fiber in 2003, the spokeswoman said.
Textile products are often sold as a “fiber” or “recycled” material.
However, a new type of textile is made of fiber or cellulose fibers that are made into a yarn or fabric that can be woven into garments or other products.
Textiles are also made from other natural materials like leaves, bark, wood, and stone.
Textiles are often recycled or “baked” from plastic bottles and other items, which are often mixed with a solvent or other chemicals to create a final product that is often reused.
